What causes recurrent IVF failure?

Repeated implantation failure often has an embryonic genetic component alongside uterine and immunological factors.

When good-quality embryos repeatedly fail to implant, a genetics review is worthwhile. Aneuploidy remains the single commonest reason an embryo does not progress.

Areas we evaluate

  • Embryo chromosome status and the role of PGT-A
  • Parental karyotype and structural rearrangements
  • Male factor genetics, including Y-microdeletions
  • Endometrial receptivity and uterine cavity assessment
  • Carrier status for recessive conditions

Working with your fertility team

Evaluation is done in partnership with your IVF centre so that the genetic findings translate directly into the next treatment cycle.

This page is general information and is not a substitute for a consultation. Every pregnancy is assessed individually.
