What is recurrent miscarriage?
Two or more consecutive pregnancy losses warrant a structured evaluation — genetic, anatomical, hormonal and immunological.
Recurrent pregnancy loss is distressing and often goes unexplained because the evaluation stops at the obvious causes. A genetics-led workup frequently adds information.
What we assess
- Parental karyotype for balanced translocations
- Genetic analysis of products of conception where available
- Uterine anatomy on high-resolution ultrasound
- Thyroid, glucose and prolactin status
- Antiphospholipid antibodies and thrombophilia where indicated
- Carrier screening in consanguineous couples
